Publikace přináší poznatky o zahraničních studentech z třetích zemí studujících v českém jazyce veřejnou vysokou školu na území Hlavního města Prahy. Zahraničním studentům studujícím v České republice bývá zpravidla věnována častější pozornost spíše ze strany českých médií než ze strany aplikovaného výzkumu, a to zejména z důvodu jejich narůstajícího podílu na našich vysokých školách a univerzitách. Studie se opírá o statistiky MŠMT, expertní šetření, hloubkové rozhovory se studenty a realizované výběrové šetření mezi cílovou skupinou studentů. V rámci aplikovaného smíšeného výzkumu byla pozornost zaměřena na vybrané oblasti vypovídající jak o studiu cílové skupiny cizinců, tak o jejich pobytu na území České republiky, sledovány byly vybrané výzkumné oblasti např. vzdělání a pracovní příležitosti, rodina, vrstevníci, spolužáci a přátelé, životní strategie a plány studentů do budoucnosti a také veřejný prostor a zkušenosti studentů s vybranými institucemi v ČR.
Cílem studie bylo rozšířit poznatky o studentech - cizincích, kteří se rozhodli studovat veřejnou vysokou školu v českém jazyce, nahlédnout do způsobu jejich života v ČR nejen v souvislosti s jejich studiem a plány do budoucnosti, ale také z hlediska jejich možností integrace do majoritní společnosti ČR.

The publication provides an insight into the life of third country students studying in Czech language at the public higher education institutions in Prague. Foreign students studying in the Czech Republic tend to receive more frequent attention from the Czech media rather than from applied research, mainly because of their increasing share in our universities. The study is based on the results of Ministry of education, youth and sports statistics, expert questioning techniques, in-depth interviews and sample survey of such foreign students. Within the applied mixed research, attention was focused on selected areas reflecting the study of the target group of foreigners and their stay in the Czech Republic, e.g. education and job opportunities, family, peers, classmates and friends, life strategies and students' plans for the future, as well as public space and student experience with selected institutions in the Czech Republic.
The aim of the study was to extend the information about foreign students who decided to study a public university in the Czech language, to view their way of life in the Czech Republic not only in connection with their studies and plans for the future, but also in terms of their integration possibilities into the Czech society.
